Emergency Responders Receive ID Badges for Disaster Relief
Anyone responding to emergencies in White County, Arkansas must now carry a special photo ID badge. The new badge program will serve as a way to ensure that qualified individuals are able to quickly help out when disasters strike. Earlier this week, emergency workers in the area were issued their ID badges. Now the community is asking that anyone who wishes to help in emergency situations register for a responder ID badge as soon as possible.
Emergency responder ID card programs have become increasingly popular in the past year. With the ever-present threat of weather-related disasters, the cards serve as part of a proactive strategy for quick response.
White County's emergency card program, which went into effect not long after a series of tornado swept through surrounding areas, uses equipment purchased with a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
